Why it’s important to relax

One of the main reasons for visiting a doctor is stress. It can be said that this is the real epidemic of the era in which we live. When we are in a state of stress, the functioning of various systems in the body is impaired. Of course, stress also harms our relationships with ourselves and the environment.
Prolonged stress also causes pain and even depression.
So what is stress anyway and how should you deal with it, before you start taking pills.

What is stress anyway?

It is a survival mechanism in the brain, which recognizes a certain situation as an existential threat and mobilizes our physical resources to escape, attack or freeze
In the past, this mechanism was called fight-flight escape-attack, but today, another option is known – freez freeze instead
When the survival mechanism in our brain detects a state of danger, it immediately raises the systems in our body to high gear.
There is an acceleration in the pulse, the adrenaline level rises, breathing is accelerated, sweating is increased, there is an increase in blood pressure and dryness in the mouth.
This situation, in itself, does not endanger us at all. Once the danger passes, the body alone knows how to return the systems to the norm and there is no problem with that.
When it comes to stress, it’s all a matter of dosage and balance. The problems start when the body does not have enough time to return the systems to the norm line and thus a situation is created where we work on high columns over time.

The systems in the body that are affected by constant stress

Digestive system – When we are stressed, there is a disconnect between eating and the real need of the body. It causes extremes. Either they eat too much, usually also unhealthy food, or there is no appetite.
Respiratory system – pressure causes a feeling of suffocation. No air. In a state of respiratory pressure it becomes increased. This can lead to a state of panic.
Immune system – Stress weakens the immune system. We get infected from any Apache and it takes longer to heal.
Cardiovascular – A state of constant stress can cause a heart attack or stroke. There is a possibility of inflammation and a change in the level of cholesterol.
Musculoskeletal system – Prolonged stress can cause headaches and migraines. For chronic pain and a feeling of overload in the shoulders and neck.
What else was injured? Persistent stress impairs fertility, disrupts the regularity of menstruation, aggravates abdominal pain in the menstrual cycle and exacerbates menopausal symptoms.
Prolonged stress can cause itching and various skin problems, fibromyalgia and another variety of unexplained pain.

Got stressed? It's not necessarily dangerous

Everything’s fine, no one is immune to stress.
It is also important to say that a state of stress is not necessarily bad. Stress can be a factor that actually motivates us to do and achieve. There is such a thing as healthy stress.
Do you know these people who function best under pressure? Give them lots of tasks and they will tickle work with pleasure. Give them one single task and they will be bored.
I, for one, like this kind of stress. Pressure that spurs me to tick, to move forward. Stress that challenges me to overcome a certain fear.
The body knows perfectly well to return to balance alone. All we need is to give ourselves the time and space we need.

Ways to deal with stress

People with less stress take care of themselves and look for the fastest way that will make it easier for them.
